"With These Long Nights, There's Nothing In Between..." [15 Oct 2007|12:11am]
[ mood | content ]

Wow. A month since I last posted. Ummm..

Miss Saigon is..... how CSM normally is. Haha. Except slightly worse and slightly better. Emmitt has been out for about a month now, he has had heart problems. Stephen is doing the same things he did last year. The only saving grace is Michael Santana, who comes in on Wednesdays and tightens things for us. It's just a normal year at CSM, but instead of doing classic shows like The King and I and Man of La Mancha, he is doing a show commonly known as "The biggest musical ever".. which adds some pressure. But whatever. It will probably end up being bad, and if it is.. it is. No sweat.

I also just auditioned for West Side Story (literally, like 6 hours ago I did it).. I got the role of Bernardo, which is awesome. I'm excited for that show. Even though I, personally, don't dance and Bernardo is a BIG dancer. Haha. I have to lose 20 pounds before the show opens though, which is good and bad. BAd because I'm lazy, but good because I have been meaning to do that for a while now.. I have just been lazy.

Work is amazing, as usual.

I have visited New York twice in one month. That city truly is amazing, and it's a shame I won't be able to make it back up there until the end of November, beginning of December.

That's it for now.

See ya.

P.S. My girlfriend is better than yours. She is amazing. The end.

"What A Waste, To Pay For My Keep 'm Rounding Up Sheep..." [09 Sep 2007|07:07pm]
[ mood | happy ]

I have abandoned you, LJ, and for that, I am sorry. Will you accept my apology? This summer has been an interesting one, to say the least. I met a wonderful girl who is now my even more amazing girlfriend. She puts up with all of my shit which takes a lot of patience.

I did a show this summer called "The Pajama Game". It was ....alright. Kind of lame. And I hated it, but whatever it was a show.

I also ventured to a lot of places this summer. Williamsburg for a weekend, D.C., Baltimore, a real life Kwik-E-Mart, just to name a few places.

This summer was also the summer of M'Denopoly. Usually once every couple of weeks, a group of friends (usually Kenny, Laura, Brian and I) would get together and play Monopoly and then go to Denny's afterwards. It sounds boring, but it was some of the best times that i had this summer.

My job is a lot of fun. I'm still working at Chili's, and I have so much fun. I make about 20 dollars an hour on average, if you put my tips and my hourly wage together, which is fricking sweet. Not to mention, the managers and my coworkers are fucking amazing. Out of all 5 managers, I have problems with 1 and it's just because he is a huge dick, and I don't have a single problem with any of my co-workers.

This past weekend, I auditioned for Miss Saigon. Hopefully, that went well. Cast list goes up tomorrow, it should be alright. I mean, I'll at least end up in the ensemble and even the ensemble has beautiful songs in Miss Saigon, so whatever. Haha.

Also, on Wednesday, I'm heading to NYC for 5 days, to visit Laura (The most amazingest girlfriend ever!), and yeah.. that's going to be a good time.

Sorry for abandoning you, LJ. I can't make any promises, but I'll try to keep in touch.

"I Wanna Shout Out, Shout Out Loud..." [27 May 2007|06:40pm]
[ mood | hot ]

I don't even know if anyone reads my journal anymore. Haha.

Life is amazing right now, well, except for one thing.

Work is amazing. The people are hilarious and the managers are so awesome. I love it there. Not to mention going home with about a 100 dollars a night is a pretty sweet deal.

My friends are amazing. Even though, some of them seem to have forgotten about me.. Amber is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. Seriously. It's too bad that she doesn't realize it.

School is over which means I get to see all my friends again, like Derek, Brian, Kim, and Matt. Speaking of Brian, I have not seen that nigga. I need to chill with him soon. I saw Ms. Emily Rehm today and we did not do much but we still had fun or at least I did.

The one thing about my life right now that I am not 100% enjoying is The Pajama Game. It's just not going as well as I'd like. The cast is amazing. The music director is amazing. The choreographer is amazing. The fault lies with the director. He just isn't much of a director. It seems like he can't or doesn't want to make decisions by himself and relies on others to make the decisions for him. There is very little direction involved and that makes me angry. True, I should have known what was coming to me given I have worked with him in the past during Singin' In The Rain, but I was hoping things would have improved. Also, one or two of the people in the cast are majorly annoying me. Not just me, but the majority of the cast. Actually, let's bump that number down to one person.

Whatever. I'll get over it. I'm sure it will turn out to be a great show, or at least I hope.

Plans for this summer are looking eh. A lot of random trips to random places, but that's about it.

Oh, wow. I almost forgot to update about the concert I saw two Thursdays ago. I saw a concert version of Jason Robert Brown's Songs For A New World, music directed by Jason Robert Brown himself. He also played piano. It was AMAZING. That's about it.

Anyways, I'll try to update this thing more frequently.

How are things with you guys?

"Relax, Take It Easy..." [23 Apr 2007|02:30pm]
[ mood | hot ]

Yesterday was eventful. We will just leave it at that.

Amber came over. Laughs were had, yelling ensued, tears were exchanged. Everything is better now, though.

Simon came over, after like 3 or 4 hours, and we went to Chuck's Barbecue. Left there about 2 hours later, took Simon to work, and then Amber came back here and we watched "The Pursuit Of Happyness". It was her first time seeing it, my second. I love that movie and it seemed like she did, as well. It's amazing.
Will Smith is amazing. He is one of my favorite actors. Him and Tom Hanks. :).

Today, I have nothing to do until rehearsal tonight. Tomorrow, I work, and Wednesday, I work and then have rehearsal.

Yay work!

Tonight, Heroes comes back on and I am so fricking excited! I miss that show.

That's about it for right now. I'll probably update again sometime later this week.

P.S. It's so fricking hot in my room!

"Well, I've Seen Black And I've Seen Blue..." [20 Apr 2007|04:05pm]
[ mood | chipper ]

I just realized. I have not updated in a good while. I guess it's because I have been going through a whole restructuring phase. A lot has happened, though, so here we go.

Joseph went off swimmingly. I think that shows with the audience. They loved it. We sold out most weekends, and got standing ovations a lot. I loved that show. It was a lot of fun, but I'm glad that it's over. I got a lot closer to a lot of people I have worked with before, met some new fun people, lost a few friendships, and made one of the best friends I have ever had. I also got over some issues I have had with myself, and others. I can't say I miss the show, but I'm really glad I did it, I grew a lot because of it.

I auditioned for Pajama Game. Audition went great (according to others), callbacks went less than great because I made a stupid decision, got pissed off at myself, and walked off the stage. Even so, I got the part of The First Helper, which is good for me. It's not a huge role, by any means, but I'm having fun with it already and we have only had the first rehearsal. Plus, I don't have to wear a coconut bra or a grass skirt. :).

I got a job at Chilis. Finally. After being tossed back and forth between different jobs (Borders, Carrabas, Walgreens, CVS), and people being pissed off at me, I finally have some sort of steady income. The job is great. I'm loving it. I always told myself I wouldn't work in food again, but I think it was just Red Robin I had a problem with, Chilis is really amazing.

I haven't seen many of my friends recently, and I'm going to borrow a page out of Kenny's book and ask that if you think we have grown apart recently, or I have unfair to you friend-wise, just please talk to me about it. I don't mean to do that, it just seems that everyone is really busy right now and they don't have time to hang out with other people, so I don't bother to ask. It's not that I don't love you or I love you less. That's 100% not true, I still love everyone the same, I have just been really busy and so have you. Haha.

Plans for this summer are sketchy but they look like they will be amazing. A lot of Amber/Simon time (which makes me extremely happy considering Simon's bitch ass is leaving to go to Spain), a lot of road trips, a lot of random things are going on and I couldn't be

I didn't update my journal, because I felt no inclination to do so because I had no reason to update. I had nothing going on in my life, but expect many more entries from me! :).

I know I end a lot of entries with this but this time I really mean it.

Things are finally looking up! :).

And just for shits and giggles,

Fun!Collapse )

"Ooh, What A Feeling, When We're Dancing On The Ceiling.." [25 Feb 2007|06:33pm]
[ mood | happy ]

Wow. A serious lack of updates on my part. Sorry about that.

This past.. month.. has been interesting. It started off extremely awkward, towards the middle, it became alright.. and now, it's amazing.

Joseph opens in two weeks, I couldn't be more excited about it. Even with the coconut bra and grass skirt.

That's right. I'm wearing a coconut bra and a grass skirt.. that's it. It's going to do one of two things :

A.) Make people laugh uproariously
B.) Make people very, very uncomfortable.

Hopefully, if we get a few laughs every night when I come sliding out in it, it will start a snowball effect and everyone will laugh. I mean I AM only in it for a max of 5-6 minutes.

I should be going to New York at the end of March/beginning of April. The people I am going with guarantee that it is going to be a good time. The only show I really, really want to see while I am up there is Spring Awakening.

I have my orientation for my job on Tuesday. It's going to be fun, hopefully. I'm excited.

WATCH Awards are on Sunday, and that excites me. I can't wait to perform! Even if we don't win, I don't care, I'm just excited to perform with everybody again in front of an audience.

I have been playing The Sims 2 a lot recently, which is weird because I don't like The Sims. I just got addicted.. I think it's just a phase due to my boredom.

Whatever, I'm sure I'll outgrow it.

"I Hope You're As Happy As You're Pretending.." [30 Jan 2007|01:50am]

This week is going to be amazing.

Tonight, I had rehearsal for Joseph and that went fantasmagorical.

Tomorrow, shopping with my mom.

Wednesday, Brother Night with the Brothers from Joseph. All Brothers. All the time.

Thursday, Brush up for Aladdin. Boo for the show, but yay for H!

Friday, Aladdin show at 10 AM, Movie with H, Scrabble with H (Is it weird I have never played it?), and then another Aladdin show.. H all day! woo!

Saturday, Joseph rehearsal until 1, Aladdin show at 2, Poker night!

Sunday, Aladdin closes! Last time I will see H during the show.. so that's sad.. but I'm sure I will see H soon after.

"What A Glorious Feeling, I'm Happy Again..." [28 Jan 2007|08:30pm]
[ mood | excited ]

Aladdin opened this week. It was alright. Ha. I'm not having fun with the show, just the people. Although, Emmitt is now officially on my shit list. Usually I don't care for him, but he has been getting better this year, well yesterday he fucked all that up, and now he is back on my shit list. Fuck him.

I have realized though, that are so many people that I am going to miss in Aladdin. Like Tessa, I never see her.. and both Andys, well I will see Andy Donahue at P-Game auditions, but I probably won't see Andy Whetzel for a while, that's sad. :(.

Joseph is going swimmingly. So amazing. There are so many funny bits in it that the brothers are just coming up with. We work so well off each other. We have an amazing cast. I love rehearsals for Joseph. I dread going to Aladdin but I can't wait to go to Joseph.

I met a new girl over the weekend. She is amazing. Like too amazing. There has to be something seriously wrong with her that I haven't found out yet. She has to be a murderer or a racist or something, just to balance things out. We have done nothing but just talk this entire weekend. Need to go a bit slower, don't want to rush into things too fast though. That always has negative effects on relationships, whether they be friendship or romantic. I should know. Haha. But we won't get into that.

I saw some people I haven't seen in a while this weekend. On Friday night, I saw Andy and that was fun times. But it's always fun times with that cat. I also saw Jenn, and she is awesome! Saturday night, I saw Kyle. I haven't seen him in a couple of months, and of course, fun times ensued. Not as much fun as I would have liked but still an adequate amount of the fun.

Poker night this Saturday. Seeing as I don't know how to play poker, I will probably just watch TV or something. Or maybe I'll learn and join in and play. Hopefully, H comes and we can hang out and watch TV. haha. That would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Joseph rehearsal tomorrow! I can't wait! And possibly a movie with H?

"Like You're Madder Than Hell, And Right As Rain!" [21 Jan 2007|01:44am]
[ mood | exhausted ]

So today was fun.

I started off at auditions for Pippin. Nick and I got there, filled out the forms, turned in our resumes when the director stopped us and said that we shouldn't even go on when we couldn't make pretty much any of the rehearsals because of Joseph. So we left. But we still got to sing and they kept our resumes and said they would call if something opened up.

Nick and I then went to Aladdin rehearsal. Lame. The only cool part was that the dragon actually breathes fire now, and by fire I mean flash paper goes off. So I guess its lame. Haha. whatever. I really don't care. It's a children's show.

Nick and I then went to Joseph rehearsal. Amazing. We choreographed most of the first two numbers, and ran through it a few times. We also ran through Act Two music. Amazing. God that show is going to be sooo good.

When I got to Joseph, Rachel Nutter was there and I was like what are you doing here? Apparently, she was watching Montel Williams a couple of days ago, and at the end of the show they said "if you have ever had contact with the paranormal, please contact us", so she did and they actually got back to her! So today we filmed a re-enactment of the stuff that happened at LPHS with Hannah. Rachel Nutter, Mary Thiedeman, myself, and..... Mike Margelos. Because he looks so much like a high school student. Whatever. We had fun. It was hilarious.

Then Sean and I went to the mall, talked to Kenny, and met up with Aubrey. Sean and I stayed there for probably an hour, and then left there and came here.

And here I am. I am tired. so goodnight.

Watch for me on Montel! I keep you posted when it is airing, if it airs. :)

"First Day Of The Rest Of My Life..." [20 Jan 2007|01:26am]
[ mood | tired ]

Tomorrow (or should I say later today) is really busy. Ha.

Start off the day with auditions for Pippin at Black Box at 9:30-10ish.

Then rehearsal for Abracadabra Aladdin at 10 - 1.

Followed by rehearsal for Joseph from 1 - 4.

I love it.

Then hopefully, Brian and I can hang out after that.

That is all.

"Lucky Me, Can't You See I'm In Love?" [15 Jan 2007|04:42pm]
[ mood | excited ]

So I sold my soul to the devil and finally got a MySpace. I know, it's crazy. Haha. So www.myspace.com/glrichardson87 if any of you kids want to add me. These past two weeks have been fun. I have just been hanging with really cool people. Even Aladdin rehearsals are fun (kind of), definitely not because of the show, but because of the people. Joseph is going amazing. I know I say that a lot, but I really mean it. It's amazing.

Seussical got 11 WATCH Award nominations which is very very exciting. I'm really excited to perform and for Derek, who got nominated Best Lead Actor In A Musical, which is just fantasmagorical.

I miss Brian. haha. I haven't seen that kid in like 4 days. I think that's the longest we have gone without hanging out since he's been home. I also miss Zelda.

My aunt bought me both Eragon books for Christmas. So I cracked the first one open today. It's alright, so far. I don't know how I feel. It's kind of weird.

Nick and I went and saw I Hate Hamlet the other day. I really liked it. I wish I could have stayed after to say "hey" to people, but we had to run. But I really enjoyed it.

That's about it, kiddos.

Guess I'll update again whenever

"I Did All Sorts Of Things I Wouldn't Usually Do..." [06 Jan 2007|09:26am]
[ mood | excited ]

Man, last night was hilarious. Haha. Started off at Brian's house playing some Zelda, because Zelda on the Wii is amazing. I suck at it, but I still love playing it. I'm pretty far. Haha. Then I went to rehearsal for Aladdin, and that was shitty, of course, but thats because it's a shitty show. After that, I reported to Brian's house for some Lost action with Ms. Lauren Kennedy and Catie Taylor. Then the four of us met up with some people from Lauren's movie. It was awkward at first. Catie, Brian, and I just hung to ourselves, but then towards the end of the night when the rest of the people left our table, we opened up. I met two really cool guys whose names I don't remember. It was bad ass. Today, calls for some Joseph rehearsal which is pretty much guaranteed to rock. I am scared about the children though. Haha. Just because I don't want to say something around them and get in trouble. After rehearsal, I am meeting up with sexy people and getting some Chipotle, since they just opened the one in Waldorf.

Today is going to be awesome.

New Year's Party [01 Jan 2007|08:56am]
[ mood | exhausted ]

Happy New Year's, kiddos.

I am at Brian's house right now and I have a tendency to not sleep at parties. It's a weird habit of mine. So I haven't slept at all and everyone who was hanging out with me just fell asleep. So I decided to come on here and update.

The party was fantastic. Amazing. Fantasmagorical. Lots of conversations and I found out a lot of new things about people. For some strange reason, I have been listening to a lot of random music recently. I don't really know why, just things like Imogen Heap, and Regina Spektor. It's really random, but I enjoy it. My iPod has grown considerably since I have received my new computer and I love it. It's swelled to about double the music that it had on it before I got the computer. Amazing.

Joseph is going fantastic, and I'm not just saying that because it's the show I'm currently in. When I think a show sucks, I tend to say it sucks, but this show is going so amazing and all we have done is the first act, but it just sounds so fucking amazing. I'm so stoked for the second act because that's when my song comes in and I can't wait to start working on it.

I'm exhausted but I don't want to sleep because my sleep schedule will be even more fucked up than it is now. I think I'm just going to stay up all day (hopefully) and then crash the second dusk comes. But knowing me, I will probably end up sleeping the second I get home. I'll just drink a lot of Mountain Dew and that should keep me up all day. Damnit, why can't I fall asleep at other people's houses like everyone else? I think it also has to do with me having a bed. It's very hard for me to fall asleep if I don't have a bed. I'm weird.

I have met so many new people tonight, and they have all been amazing. AMAZING. I love these kids to death and I have only just met them.

Well, that's about it for me. Oh wow, this is one of the few entries that I write that doesn't have lyrics for the subject header.

Love you guys

P.S. The new Beatles album "Love" is a must have. As well as, Nas' new CD and Jay Z's. Oh yeah, and Mika. Everyone should totally listen to Mika. http://www.myspace.com/mikamyspace . He is really good, or at least, I think so.

The guys who wrote Avenue Q, wrote the music.

Things have been good over here. Hanging out with good friends, playing the Wii, doing fun things.

Nothing bad.

New Year's Party tonight should be bangarang.

Hey kiddos,

I have not been updating due to the lack of a working computer at my house but all of that changed this morning. Now I have a gorgeous working computer. I'm too exhausted to write a real entry to I'm just going to say come see Joseph, motherfuckers! It's going to be amazing. I will write a real entry tomorrow.

P.S. That's right I'm listening to The Dixie Chicks, wanna fight about it?

I haven't been updating due to lack of internet. Sorry. Rest assured, I'm alive and well in Paris. Well, all of that is true except for the last part. I said goodbye to some friends recently, because of stupid college, but I will see them again soon. Just know that I'm alive. And if you need to get a hold of me call 2406821757.

Last night was the most fun I've had all summer.

The End.
